Yay, Amboy!

AMBOY: The crustiest, dustiest gas stop on all of RT.66 Pure untouched Americana where the heyday of motor travel is preserved in original condition.

Two great guys bought the entire town of Amboy from a guy named Buster some years back and set about breathing life back into this desolate rest stop. Roy's Cafe & Motel, built in the thirties to accommodate the then brisk Chicago to Los Angeles traffic has been left untouched.

This town is not restored or modernized, but the real thing. There are ten buildings in Amboy and a population of twenty. The owners display a gracious hospitality to passing motorists and tourists as well as playing host to movie companies, photo shoots, and events from all over the world. Come to Amboy, our town can be yours!
