Ruud Guillit
(Holland)

Ruud Gullit, as a player, had everything. He had skills, he had the speed
and he was tough. He was one of the most versatile players to ever play the
game. He can did very well in attacking as well as defending. His glorious
years were spent with AC Milan in the late 80's. He also captained Holland
to her first major championship in 1988. His powerful header in the final
game just showed the kind of power player he was.
Injuries slowed him down in the early 90's, but he found new life after
moving to Chelsea in 1995. He took the chance of becoming a player-manager
in 1996 when Glen Hoddle left to manage England. He became the youngest
manager to win the FA Cup a year later. He was also the first non-British
manager to do so. |
