The Competition

Pico Glatt Market faces two primary competitors: Elat Market and Zafar Market. Elat Market, as many know, is the "original" persian kosher foods market, having been established many years ago. The members of Elat Farming dare not attempt to infiltrate the Elat Market compound. It is too deadly even for us. At some point, Lexi Mouse may take a hidden camera in there, but for now, the situation is too risky. Inside Elat Market, a shopper may find Ralph's and Pavillon's shopping carts for their use. However, their availability is very limited, and so you are required to stand guard at your cart at all times, else another shopper shall wrest you of it, even if you have already placed your items into the cart. NEVER give your number out to strangers inside Elat Market, there is a MASSIVE amount of chasdegary going on inside, and its just too dangerous to be giving out personal information to old persian women. Finally, also be wary of old persian women asking for rides to their homes, which are only "a few blocks away." They actually live somewhere in Glendale (exact location is unknown). Should you decide to enter the market complex, please, BE AWARE OF THE HAIR, and good luck.

Above: Frontal view of the Elat Market shopping complex. As you can see, traffic is blocked, because of all the double parked persians in the vicinity. Elat Market has prime location, near the intersection of Pico & Robertson Blvd. Below: Side view of Zafar Market. Though not as deadly as Elat, Zafar Market has established itself as a formidable competitor.

Above: Direct frontal view of Zafar Market. It does not have a primary location located at an off corner, near Pico and La Cienega. It's location puts it beyond that of Elat Market, going eastward. It's somewhat afar of its target audience, the "29 year old" middle-aged (40's) persian woman, and considerably too distanced from old persian women, who live "only a few blocks from here," in Glendale.

12/13/03 UPDATE: ZAFAR MARKET HAS BEEN DEFEATED! THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR DOORS AND CEASED OPERATIONS!
